OWEN CONNELL is both a fine artist, and a graphic artist, whose Parlor-F Studio has been a staple of Seattle’s Capitol Hill for over 35 years.
Owen blurs the space between business and fine art living in a world we all wish we could, if only we had the talent. Connell is renowned for his bold, graphic style which ink enthusiasts worldwide collect on their body as others collect stamps or coins. His abstract paintings feature a fluid approach which has clearly influenced his tattoo work with its colorful shapes and stylized lines.
Owen earned his BFA from Montana State University-Bozeman in 1989 and still collaborates with friends he met there, some of whom have gone on to make their own marks in the design world and beyond. His fine art has been featured in the Seattle Art Museum, Center for Contemporary Art, Roq La Rue and other galleries while his graphic art reigns prominently on album covers, rock posters and skateboard decks. Not limiting himself to paint or ink, Owen was a guest artist at the Museum of Glass in Tacoma and a visiting artist at the Toyama Institute of Glass Art in Toyama, Japan.
The only thing cooler than all that just might be a T-shirt to complement a Parlor-F tattoo!
