They asked me to do that “Art Chantry” look (whatever that is). they said “we want it punky! political! and sexy!” So, i took old rude ads with sexist imagery, tossed in snarling sarcastic feminist commentary and then lifted lyrics from a WOBBLIES songbook to sprinkle carefully over the toasted crust. Never heard from that client again…
The shirt colour is inspired by Chantry’s design, made to look like authentic newsprint or the pages of a girly magazine, which were closer to a light grey versus clean, chorine white, due to budgetary purposes. However, the Tshirt itself is genuine high quality as one expects in a better brand. Win-win!!
